Medication collection arrangements from Thursday 2nd January 2020 until Monday 9th March 2020

Due to further building works taking place and for the health and safety of our patients and staff, Four Crosses branch surgery will be closed for a 9 week period from the 31st of December 2019. During this time, we are unable to offer a dispensary service at this site.

Following the successful arrangement with the Premier Store (RJ&JE Lewis) petrol filling station in Llandrino during our recent 2 week closure, we will extend this to cover the whole of the 9 week period in the New Year.

Any prescriptions that are scheduled for collection from the Four Crosses surgery during this 9 week period can be collected from the Premier Store (RJ&JE Lewis) in Llandrinio (SY22 6SB) between 1.30pm and 5.30pm on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday only. Medication requested for collection at the Llandrinio site will only be available from there, and not be moved to our main Llanfyllin site outside of these times.

As before, the Llandrinio collection site will be staffed by Llanfyllin Group Practice dispensary staff on these days, but they will only be permitted to hand out prescriptions and arrange your re-order for the following month. Any medication queries or other surgery responsibilities will be dealt with by team members at the Llanfyllin site.

The Llandrinio site will not be able to supply any medication unless it has been pre-ordered at the previous month’s collection or through our 48 hour medication request service.

The Four Crosses branch surgery is scheduled to re-open at 8.30am on Monday 9th March 2020 when normal service of the site will resume in full.

Important notice for Controlled Drug medication collection arrangements from Thursday 2nd January 2020 until Monday 9th March 2020.

Please be aware that due to legislation that governs the safe custody of Controlled Drugs, we are not permitted to offer collection of certain medicines from the Llandrinio site during the 9 week closure.

Any prescription for a Controlled Drug that requires safe custody can only be dispensed and collected from our Llanfyllin or Llanrhaeadr sites during this closure.

Controlled Drugs that are affected by this include:

  • Morphine in tablet or capsule form (brands include Zomorph or MST)
  • Fentanyl patches (brands include Mezolar, Durogesic, Matrifen and Fentalis)
  • Oxycodone in tablet, capsule or liquid form (brands include Longtec, Shortec, Oxycontin and Oxynorm)
  • Methylphenidate in tablet or capsule form (brands include Equasym, Medikinet and Concerta)
  • Buprenorphine in patch or tablet form (brands include Butec, Butrans, Transtec and Temgesic)
  • Temazepam in tablet or liquid form

If you think that this may affect you, please speak to any of our dispensary or reception staff who will be able to advise you on these temporary arrangements.
